Lillie Eva Jackson

Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Eva Jackson, who died February 19, were held last Friday, Feb. 25, at Springfield Baptist Church in Monticello. Rev. Jimmy Horton officiated; burial was in South View Cemetery.

Mrs. Jackson was born in Jasper County to the late Howard and Louisiana Cloud on February 12, 1935. She was educated in Jasper County public schools, and joined King Chapel Church at an early age. She was married to the late Carden Jackson.

Mrs. Jackson moved to Washington D.C. where she started her independent child care service. She also loved volunteering at D.C. Central Mission. Her passions were Bible verses and gospel music. She returned to Monticello after her husband died, and dedicated her life to caring for her ailing aunt, Eulady C. Thomas.
A sister, Eulady Tuft of Cleveland, Ohio, and a brother, Howard Cloud, Jr., of Jasper County preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Margie Cloud and Shelia Jackson, both of Washington D.C.; two sons, Eugene Cloud and Clint Jackson, both of Monticello, a granddaughter, Pamela Jones of Conyers; two great-granddaughters, three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.

Smith & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
