Piedmont Golfers Fall

The latest chapter of the Piedmont-Gatewood rivalry took place on the golf course last week.

Piedmont dropped a 192-171 match to the Gators in an event played at Hunter Pope Country Club. Branson Parish was the low medalist for the Cougars.

“Our top players performed well but we just couldn’t catch them on this day,” said Piedmont coach Ryan Berg.

The Cougars are scheduled to play against Flint River on the road at Pebble Brook Country Club Friday at 3:30 p.m. “In the past we have done well against Flint River,” Berg said. “I told our golfers if everyone can continue playing in the 40s I will be happy. We have been able to do that to this point.”

Piedmont returns home for a Tuesday match against Loganville Christian at 4 p.m. at Hunter Pope Country Club.
