Motorcycle Wrecks Friday to End High Speed Chase

While law enforcement officers were conducting a road check on Jackson Lake Road at the fire station last Friday at approximately 10 p.m., a motorcycle traveling southbound towards the check point made a u-turn and fled, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).
A high speed chase up to 130 mph ensued north on Jackson Lake Road then south on Hwy 11. After two attempts of conducting a rolling road block by the GSP, the chase ended with the motorcycle crashing into a ditch.

The driver, Jerimy Joshua Mann of Covington, was injured and hospitalized with minor injuries. He was also charged with fleeing/attempt to elude officer, possession of meth, after a smoking devise with residue was discovered on him, and also with theft by receiving stolen property, as the motorcycle turned out to be stolen.

Also, during March 15-21 the GSP reported the following arrests in Jasper County:

•Andrecus Rashard Banks, 30, Eatonton—driving while license suspended or revoked.

•Kyle Andrew Dentler, 23, Monroe—driving while license suspended or revoked.

In addition, during the period of March 16-21, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) reported the following incidents:

•On March 21, a burglary was reported at a residence on Purple Martin Drive in Turtle Cove with no forced entry and unspecified items taken.

•On March 20, a burglary was reported at a residence on Pelican Circle where the door had been pried open and the outside AC coil was taken along with part of the copper wire from the inside unit.

•On March 20, a criminal trespass was reported at another residence on Pelican Circle where the rear door had been kicked in and the AC unit damaged.

•On March 20, a criminal trespass was reported at a third residence on Pelican Circle where the outside AC unit was torn apart.

•On March 20, a criminal trespass was reported at the Turtle Cove Clubhouse were a sign had been painted and a fence had been damaged.

•On March 20, a theft by taking was reported at a residence on Duval Lane in Shady Dale where a trampoline was taken from the yard.

•On March 18, a burglary was reported at a residence on Hwy 16 West in which a set of box springs and mattresses and several potted plants were reported taken.

•On March 17, criminal damage to property was reported at a residence on Hwy 83 north.

•On March 16, a auto was reported entered on Mourning Dove Court where a GPS, a portable scanner and a Nextel phone were reported taken.

During the period of March 15 through 22, the JCSO also reported the following arrests:

•Guzman-Perez Marino, 29, Newborn—duty of driver to stop at or return to the scene of an accident, striking a fixed object, no license, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Marcus Allen Rogers, 38, Monticello—simple battery.

•Adrian Lamar Eddie, 47, Columbus—hold for warrant in Muscogee County.

•Laura Jean Ramey, 40, Monticello—hold for warrant in Rockdale County.

•Johnny Robert Bland, 60, Ft. Myers, Fla.—probation violation.

•Robert Gray Kliner, 32, Monticello—hold for warrant at Gainesville Police Department.

•Juan Antonio Yournet, 33, Jonesboro—possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, speeding, cruelty to children and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.

•Christoper Martel Burton, 27, Jonesboro—possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

•Candy Yvonne Cleveland, 40, Monticello—probation violation.

During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 158 calls for service including 23 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 14 alarm, 12 subject needs officer 10 mechanical break down, seven each theft by taking and threatening/harassing calls, six each assist motorist and accident, five trouble unknown, four intoxicated driver and welfare check, three each domestic, escort or convoy, juvenile complaint, music/noise complaint, vandalism of property, argument and abandoned vehicle, two each courtesy ride, livestock on road, fire/brush, special detail, child abuse/molestation, four wheeler, trespassing and persons refuse to leave, one each fight, burglary, speeding auto, hit and run, fire/unknown, chase in progress, mental person, be on the look out, pedestrian trauma, extra patrol, request additional unit, private property, shoplifter, road hazard, VGCSA, identity fraud/theft and sick.

Also during this period, the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:

•Walter Wayne Fenley, 42, Shady Dale—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Jon Daniel Keele, 30, Mansfield—stopping, standing or parking outside of business or residence.

During this same period officers with the MPD responded to 75 calls for service including 28 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, six each alarm and subject needs officer, four escort or convoy, three each domestic and music/noise complaint, two each fight and juvenile complaint, one each burglary, assist motorist, speeding auto, intoxicated driver, hit and run, mental person, chest pain, person dead, child abuse/molestation, assault, extra patrol, welfare check, possible suicide, private property, threatening/harassing calls, shoplifter, gas drive off, vandalism of property, trespassing, stroke and argument.

Furthermore, during the above mentioned period the Department of Natural Resources reported the following arrests in this county:
•Eric Ernest Sudler, 41, Lithonia—possession of marijuana less than one ounce and fishing without a license.

•Nicholas Vincent Dejohn, 21, Dallas—possession of a loaded firearm on a closed wildlife management area, and under the influence on a wildlife management area.
