Passport Day Set April 9

Dan Jordan, Jasper County Clerk of Courts, has announced that the Clerk’s Office will be joining the U.S. Department of State in observing their third annual Passport Day in the USA on Saturday, April 9.

Mr. Jordan’s office, which is in the Jasper County Courthouse, will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and his staff will be available to process passport applications and to answer questions concerning travel requirements for U.S. citizens.

The basic requirements for obtaining a U.S. passport include a certified copy of the individual’s birth certificate or naturalization papers, a valid drivers license or some type of government issued ID and the required fee. (Adults $135 plus $4.95 for priority mail; individuals 15 and under $105 plus $4.95 for priority mail).

Official passport photos are also required and may be taken locally at the clerk’s office. The public is encouraged to phone 706-468-4901 extension 222 for more information.

Please use the door to the right of the front porch of the courthouse to access the clerk’s office on Saturday, April 9. The door will be marked for the occasion.
