Walter Claude ‘Buddy’ Queen

Walter Claude “Buddy” Queen, 48, of Hillsboro, died Friday, May 27, 2011, at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.

Mr. Queen was born in Macon. His father was the late Johnny Franklin
Queen. He lived in Eatonton for a number of years before moving to Hillsboro in 1988. He attended Hillsboro Baptist Church. Mr. Queen loved to sing, fish, watch NASCAR racing and wrestling. Prior to being disabled, Mr. Queen worked as a security guard and relief operator for Georgia-Pacific. He served as a policeman for Eatonton and Monticello for a number of years.

Survivors include his wife of nine years, Catherine Jeanette King Queen of Hillsboro; children and daughters-in-law, Chris and Joanie Queen of Milledgeville, Christina Beveridge of Hillsboro, and Brian and Jennifer Beveridge of Eatonton; granddaughter, Kirsten Queen; mother, Fay Fuller Cooke of Eatonton; mother-in-law, Ruby King Johnson of Hillsboro; brother and sister-in-law, Wyman and Linda Foskey of Eatonton; three uncles, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Hillsboro Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Burial will be held in Fullerton Memorial Gardens in Hillsboro. Revs. John McDuffie and Wills Davis will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Travis Brinson, Brian Brooks, Hal Dent, Randy Greenway, Kenny Hodges, Jim Hooks, and Paul Kitchens. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Johnson and Rob Keith.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 30, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home in Monticello.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Walter Queen Burial Fund, c/o Jordan Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Monticello, Ga. 31064.
