Superior, Magistrate Courts Hear Pleas
Jasper County Criminal Court convened Tuesday for arraignments and motions with Judge William A. Prior, Jr., presiding. Only the following four cases were on the calendar:
•Jason Jewitt Averette pled guilty to theft by receiving stolen property and was sentenced to 30 days with credit for time served since May 8, 2011.
•Kristin Kathleen Parsons paid the court costs as a first offender.
•Alvin Yates pled not guilty to family/domestic violence.
•Matthew A. Tucker had a hearing requesting to remove the interlock system from his vehicle, which was ordered.
The Jasper County Magistrate Court convened last Friday, June 10 for arraignments with Judge Kenneth G. Jackson, presiding, during which the following cases were processed:
•Donald Hill pled guilty to disorderly conduct—sentenced to 12 months probation, 30 hours community service and fined $210.
•William Harold Spalding pled guilty to disorderly conduct—sentenced to 12 months probation, 30 hours community service and fined $210.
•Becky Cronan pled guilty to disorderly conduct—sentenced to 12 months probation, 30 hours community service and fined $210.
•Victoria Brianna Smith pled not guilty to disorderly conduct and was scheduled for a bench trial on June 24, 2011.
•Ray Banks failed to appear to answer the charge of disorderly conduct and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
