Violation Results in Six Year Sentence
Jonas Nigel Smith pled guilty to possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana Tuesday in Jasper County Superior Court with Judge Hulane E. George, presiding.
These charges were a violation of Mr. Smith’s probation, and Judge George ordered six years of his probation be revoked and served in the state penal system, and upon completion be returned to regular probation supervision.
Also, David Eugene Swafford, who was serving 12 months probation for the offense of abandonment of a dependent child, had his probation revoked for failure to appear, failure to pay court ordered fines and fees and changing place of abode without permission.
Mr. Swafford was sentenced to 180 days in the Jasper County Jail with credit for time served since June 12, 2011.
Robert Standifer had his probation revoked for the charge of illegal use of alcohol. Mr. Standifer was given credit for time served and released to Intensive Probation Supervision.
The Jasper County Magistrate Criminal Court was in session last Friday with Judge Kenneth G. Jackson, presiding. During this court Ray Banks pled guilty to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for time served since June 22, 2011.
Two pre-warrant applications were also on the Magistrate Calendar, one of which was put into abeyance for a six months period, and the other continued.
