Four Arrested on Lake Over Holiday

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reported an accident-free and safe Fourth of July weekend on Jackson Lake, however, officers did report the following four arrests on or near the lake.

•Benjamin Beck Marshall, 28, Roswell—operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to obey regulatory marker.

•Richard Paul Yuncker, 50, Smyrna—operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs and improper lights.

•Christoper Brian Ingram, 23, McDonough—operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs and riding on the bow of a vessel.

•Johnny Watson McCullough, 43, Covington—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while license suspended or revoked and driving an unsafe or improperly equipped vehicle.

Also, during the period of June 25 through July 1 the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) reported the following criminal activity:

•On July 1 a resident on South Henderson Mill Road reported the theft of a NANO I-Pod.

•On June 30 a resident on Mockingbird in Turtle Cove reported the theft of Phillips flat screen TV.

•On June 28 a resident on East Mourning Dove Court in Turtle Cove reported the theft of two TV’s, and Echo trimmer, and Echo blower and a Weber gas grill.

•On June 28 a resident on Waxwing Drive in Turtle Cove reported the theft of Chrysler PT Cruiser vehicle.

•On June 25 a resident on Elijah Johnson Road in South Jasper County reported the theft of Ruger 0.22 caliber hand gun.

In addition, during the period of June 28 through July 5 the JCSO reported the following arrests:

•Shannon Lee Lackey, 38, Shady Dale—probation violation.

•Kelvin Starks, 50, Lithonia—Jasper County Probate Court Bench
Warrant.

•David Hardwick, 45, Monticello—probation violation.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 117 calls for service including 25 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 17 subject needs officer, 12 alarm, five each domestic, accident and mechanical breakdown, four each pick up prisoner and road hazard, three each fight, theft by taking and juvenile complaint, two each burglary, intoxicated driver, escort or convoy, wanted/stolen indicated, welfare check and vandalism of property, one each dog disturbance, courtesy ride, fire/structure, mental person, extra patrol, discharge firearms, entering auto, possible suicide, music/noise complaint, checking location argument abandoned vehicle, lost property, sick and transport of patient.
During the above mentioned period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the arrest of Tracey Eshawn Clark, 40, of Monticello on the charge of theft by shoplifting.

Officers with the MPD, during this same time period, responded to 61 calls for service including 23 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, five each alarm and subject needs officer, three each accident, escort or convoy and juvenile complaint, two each mechanical break down, private property, music/noise complaint and shoplifter, one each fight, domestic, intoxicated driver, entering auto, possible suicide, vandalism of property, checking location, trespassing, argument, persons refuse to leave and lost property.
