A LOT OF JUICE

This tractor-trailer that overturned on Hwy. 83 south of Monticello last Thursday was carrying Tropicana juice, and there was a whole lot of juice on the ground when the truck came to rest.

The cab was leaking diesel fuel which was running across the road, away from the juice, and the juice was spilled on the opposite side of the road.

According to the report from the Georgia State Patrol, Vickie Terven was traveling north on Hwy. 83 and failed to maintain her lane while negotiating a curve causing her tractor trailer to overturn.

She was cited with failure to maintain lane and the Department of Agriculture officials were called to the scene stating that the juice was to be destroyed. They also required the wrecker service to pick up all of the juice containers off of the shoulder of the road, as it was unsafe to consume as per their regulations.

Local units responded and were on the scene for the duration of the clean up.
