Few Arrests are Reported this Week
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) reported that the office was contacted on July 19 concerning a theft-by-taking incident reported by a property owner on Bullard Road. Upon investigating it was determined that gravel had been removed from the property by a tractor and taken to a driveway across the roadway, which the property owner said was used for hunting.
Other criminal activity reported by the JCSO, for the period of July 18 through July 24, are listed below:
•On July 24 a property owner on Eagle Drive in Turtle Cove reported the house had been broken into, however nothing could be found missing.
•On July 24 a property owner on Bethel Church Road reported the theft of a Honda 4-wheeler.
•On July 23 a resident on Apt-To-Miss Road reported the theft of four checks totaling $350.
•On July 22 a property owner on Turtle Cove Trailway in Turtle Cove reported the theft of an outdoor air conditioning unit.
•On July 21 a resident on Herring Gull reported the theft of $123 in cash, a leather wallet and $430 in food stamps.
•On July 19 a property owner on Blue Heron Drive in Rollingwood Cove reported the theft of a 1988 Mazda automobile.
•On July 18 a resident on Nuthatch Drive in Turtle Cove reported the theft of a Ruger 0.22 caliber Mark III handgun.

Also, during the period of July 19 through 26 the JCSO reported the following arrests:
•Jason Dean Wuerdeman, 23, Covington—open container.
•Tyree Adarlyn Smith, 29, Madison—failure to maintain lane and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Susan Elaine Kiker, 44, Monticello—probation violation.
•Ronald Lee Bryant, 58, Stone Mountain—probation violation.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 109 calls for service including 18 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 10 alarm, eight subject needs officer, seven each mechanical break down and theft by taking, five each domestic and accident, four each assist motorist, speeding auto and road hazard, three each burglary, juvenile complaint, argument and 911 hang up.
Also, two each livestock on road, intoxicated driver, escort or convoy, pick up prisoner, wanted/stolen, four wheeler and attempt to serve warrant, one each dog disturbance, direct traffic, child abuse/molestation, rape, dead on arrival, possible suicide, private property, threatening/harassing calls, vandalism of property sick and identity fraud/theft.
Also, during this same period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:
•Kevin Arredondo, 28, Monticello—disorderly conduct.
•Ernesto Valentin Santiago, 26, Monticello—no driver’s license and failure to yield.
•Austin Damiean Dunlap, 17, Monticello—disorderly conduct.
•Kiara Letrel Farley, 21, Monticello—obstruction of an officer.
•Labarron Cosby Farrar, 33, Conyers—shoplifting.
During this period officers with the MPD responded to 56 calls for service including 14 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, three each domestic, escort or convoy, subject needs officer, road hazard and argument, two each alarm, burglary, speeding auto, mechanical break down, theft by taking, trouble unknown and vandalism of property, one each fight, assist motorist, intoxicated pedestrian, direct traffic, chase in progress, improperly parked vehicles, rape, extra patrol, juvenile complaint, private property and abandoned vehicle.
