Jack Walter Branyan

Jack Walter Branyan, 71, of Monticello, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin.

Mr. Branyan was born in Greensboro to the late Walter Branyan and Marie Howell Branyan. He served in the U.S. Army. He lived in Eatonton for a number of years before moving to Monticello 21 years ago. Before retirement, Mr. Branyan was a manager for the Lakeview Restaurant at Lake Oconee.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Pope Branyan of Monticello; son, Lance Branyan of Korea; daughters, Julie Davis of Buford, Tracey Laux of White Plains, and Jenny Yearwood of Maxeys; eight grandchildren; sister, Nita Askew of Eatonton; and brother, Dickie Branyan of Madison.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of McCommons Funeral Home in Greensboro. Burial will be held in the Greenview Cemetery in Greensboro. Harry Hudson will officiate.
