Insurance Fraud Is Alleged

An arrest warrant has been issued by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) for Misty Vigreux of a Mansfield address charging her with a fraudulent insurance claim.

According to a report by an investigator with the JCSO the claim was for hail damage to Ms. Vigreux’s 2000 Lexus SC 400 Coupe, and was made on May 18, 2011. A claims adjuster with the insurance company became suspicious when Ms. Vigreaux’s husband came to pick up the check for $2,007 and asked for it to be made out to his wife and to a body shop the adjuster knew to no longer existed.

Upon checking the system the claims adjuster found evidence in the form of pictures that showed a claim had been filed on this same vehicle for the same hail damage in June of 2009, and been paid by an insurance company who had insured the vehicle before the current one had. Further investigation revealed three claims had been filed with the previous insurer between February 2009 and June 2009, under which approximately $20,000 had been paid.

The case is currently undergoing further investigation, and as of this printing, Ms. Vigreux remains at large.
