Young Ladies Vie for Titles at Pageant Sunday

The Deer Festival Queen’s court and Little Miss Fawn, along with her court, were announced at the annual pageant held last Sunday at Piedmont Academy.

The Deer Festival court consists of Andrea Tobler, Savannah McGinnis, Caitlin Tillman, and Kalie Perkins. One of those young ladies will be crowned queen on the stage at the Deer Festival on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m.

Other contestants were Cassidy Brown, Amy Anuszczyk, Alkeili Ross, and Chelsee Thomas.

The 2011-2012 Little Miss Fawn is Sarah Beth Waters. First runner-up is Janiah Wynn, second runner-up is Adrienne Jefferies, and third runner-up is Greta Wilkes. Other contestants were Madelyn Taylor, Kyla King, April Cunard, Josephine Beasley, Rihanna Mitchell, Olivia Mathews, DeJada Marks, Kirsten Crews, Haven Cannon, and Sarah Parker. In addition to the courts, winners were named in several optional categories—prettiest hair, eyes, smile, and most poised.

Winners will be reported in the special Deer Festival section next week.

Young ladies on the queen and fawn courts can be seen riding in the parade following the crowning ceremony at the Deer Festival. The parade is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
