Hollis Williams

Hollis Williams, 63, of Monticello, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011.

Mr. Williams was born October 4, 1948 in Monticello to the late Walker Williams, St. and the late Mamie Lee Jordan Williams.

He attended Jasper County Training School and was self-employed as a carpenter and mechanic. He was known to love to help out. Those who saw Mr. Williams, saw he was riding or pushing his bike or sitting on the Square joking with someone.

Survivors include children, Demetria Williams of Lawrenceville, Tibia T. Williams, of Monticello, Kimberly Gotel of Covington, Hollis Chanard Williams of Stone Mountain, Travis Williams and Kytrone Williams, both of Monticello, and Sandra Jones of Lithonia; a sister, Charlotte Williams of Decatur; two brothers, Nathaniel Williams, Sr., and Walker Williams, Jr., both of Monticello; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.

A service is planned for today, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church, Fundergurg Drive, Monticello. Rev. Donna Marie Calix, pastor, will officiate. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Monticello, was in charge of arrangements.
