79 Make Honor Roll in Easy Contest Week

Chelsea Billings was one of 15 football contest players last week who correctly guessed the winner in 14 of the 15 games listed. The only one she missed on was Buffalo at Miami. She thought Buffalo would win, but Miami came out on top, 35-8.
Young Miss Billings won the contest because she hit the tie-breaker on the head. She guessed 42 points would be scored in Piedmont’s win over Brentwood, 35-7.
For her effort, Miss Billings collected a $25 gift certificate from Jeremy Knight at Town ‘N Country General Store. Her little brother, Blake Grimsley, who also plays the football contest, had his picture made with them.

Miss Billings has been playing the contest this year only, and said she gets her stepdad, Robert Grimsley to help her with her picks. He also made the honor roll this week, as did nearly 80 people. In addition to the large number with 14 right, 22 more got 13 right, and 42 got 12 right.
This week, we again have an assortment of high school, college, and professional games for contest players to guess the winners of. In addition, each player should make a tie-breaker guess of the total number of points which will be scored this Friday night, when the Piedmont Cougars defend their state title against Edmund Burke.
There’s only a few weeks left, so if you haven’t been playing, it’s time to start. One lucky player will win a prize package of four tickets to the Chick-fil-a Bowl to be played New Year’s Eve in Atlanta.
This week’s contest sponsor is Covington Ford. The player who has the most correct picks, subject to the tie-breaker, will win a prize worth $25 from Covington Ford. So, sharpen your pencils, turn to the contest on page 15, and start guessing. And remember, all entries must be submitted to The Monticello News office no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25. The office will be closed, but contest entries can still be faxed in to 706-468-6576 or dropped through the slot in the front door.
