James Martin Darity, Sr.
James Martin Darity, Sr., 68, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
Mr. Darity was born in Macon and moved to Hillsboro in 1971. His father, John Martin Darity, Sr., and sister, Joan Potts, preceded him in death. Before retirement he was a truck driver for the Great Southwest Express Trucking Company. He was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church. He was a member of the Jasper Masonic Lodge #50 F.& A.M., Scottish Rite and Al Sihah Shrine.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Morgan Darity of Hillsboro; mother, Elizabeth Bozeman Darity of Jeffersonville; children, Denise Campbell of Monticello, Jimmy Darity of Madison, John Darity of Valdosta, and Josh Darity of Billings, Montana; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers, John Darity, Jr. of Sandersville, and Glen Darity of Jeffersonville.
Graveside services were to be held Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Fullerton Memorial Gardens in Hillsboro. Rev. John McDuffie officiated.
Pallbearers were Matthew Shelton, Michael Shelton, Clayton Darity, Robert Grimsley, Wayne Green, and Charles Turner.
