Probation Search Results in Arrest
Late last week investigators with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) arrested Bart Wesley Ray and charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of meth and possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
The arrest was made at Mr. Ray’s residence on Flamingo Drive in Turtle Cove during a probation search. In his bedroom, a shotgun and a handgun were located around the area of the bed, according to a report from the JCSO. A clear glass smoking device containing suspected meth residue and an amount of suspected marijuana were found in the chest of drawers area.
Mr. Ray is currently serving on probation for the 2005 conviction on the charges of possession of meth, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He is currently being detained on a probation hold in the Jasper County Jail.
Also, during the period of December 6 through 11 the JCSO reported the following criminal activity:

•On December 11 a resident on Blue Heron Drive reported an attempted theft.
•On December 10 a resident on Thomason Road reported the theft of Yamaha Timberwolf four wheeler.
•On December 8 a resident on Holman Road reported his back door had been kicked in and the theft of Samsung 38 inch flat screen TV, an 18 inch TV, various DVD’s and a Nintendo game console with two controllers.
•On December 8 the owner of an out building on Apt-To-Miss Road reported the theft of copper wires and items.
•On December 7 a resident on Mockingbird Drive in Turtle Cove reported the theft of a Ford Taurus automobile.
•On December 6 the owner of a residence on Alfred Lane in Newborn reported the theft of copper electric wires from her walls.
In addition, during the period of December 6 through 12 the JCSO reported the following arrests:
•Antonio Lernard Buggs, 49, Decatur—probation violation.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 100 calls for service including 19 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 10 subject needs officer, nine alarm, six each accident, attempt to serve warrant and mechanical breakdown, five each burglary, assist motorist, and trouble unknown, three each escort or convoy and pick up prisoner, two each speeding auto, intoxicated driver, fire/vehicle, juvenile complaint and vandalism of property, one each domestic, courtesy ride, livestock on road, theft by taking, mental person, wanted/stolen indicated, extra patrol, four wheeler, discharge firearms, music/noise complaint, property found, argument and lost property.
During the period mentioned above the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:
•Oliver Jackson Barron, 74, Monticello—driving on a suspended registration and driving without insurance.
•Marvis Armel Wyman, 31, Monticello—obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers and public intoxication.
•Robert Nathaniel Dekle, Jr., Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Furthermore, during this deputies with the MPD responded to 59 calls for service including 15 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 12 escort or convoy, five subject needs officer, four alarm, two each assist motorist, vandalism of property and transport of patient, one each of fight, dog disturbance, domestic, speeding auto, vehicle accident, intoxicated driver, direct traffic, theft by taking, mental person, miscellaneous ems, juvenile complaint, private property, trouble unknown, music/noise complaint, argument, seizure and persons refuse to leave.
