Lillie Paulette Manning

Funeral services for Lillie Paulette Manning, who died December 18, 2011, were held December 23, 2011 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Horton officiated; burial was in South View Cemetery.

Ms. Manning was born May 19, 1963, the daughter of the late Nelson and Mamie Manning, Sr. A Jasper County native, she was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, and graduated from Jasper County Comprehensive High School in 1982.

She was employed by Monticello Manufacturing Company until its closing and then went on to work for Kentucky Fried Chicken in Jackson and Ingles and Hardees in Monticello.

Miss Manning was loved by everyone that she came in contact with. she had a loving personality and she was well known for saying what was on her mind. She was passionate about cooking and spending time with her family. She especially loved cooking for her nephew, Chill Gude’s friends.

Survivors include her longtime companion, James Alvin Gude; her son, Draylon Jackson; daughters, Qiana Manning and Jamie Manning; stepchidren, Antonio Gude and Kia Gude; sisters, Barbara Ann Manning, Faye Manning, Sharon Gude; brothres, Nelson Manning, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clyde Manning, Tim Manning, and Mr. and Mrs. Roderick Carter; grandchildren, Drauana, Dylon, Kweilin, Aston, Zoey, Kenai, and Kobey; step-grandchildren, Xavior Gude, Kiara Gude, Quindarius Gude, Meesha Gude and Antranija Gude.

Flower ladies for the service were members of the “Class of 1982,” Evette Pennamon, Valeria Pennamon, Mary Sue Carter, Darlene Buckner, Louise Dennis, Debra Jenkins, Tammie Dunlap, Debra Matthews, Kimberly Jackson, Charlene Buckner, Carla Hardeman, and Lisa Miller.

Pallbearers were also membeers of the “Classs of 1982,” Melvin Minter, William Standifer, Dwight Buckner, Donald Ross, Ernie Banks, Calvin Vinson, Mike Norris, and Ronald Rooks.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
