Several Want Trial by Jury
Last Friday, Jan. 6, in Jasper County Magistrate Court with Judge Kenneth G. Jackson, presiding, the court granted the demand of seven different individuals to a trial by jury rather than a bench trial in Magistrate Court.
The group, all charged with the misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct included Robert James Lowder, Stacie Poole Lowder, Windy L. Howard, Brent Edward Howard, Jordan Alexander Stowe, Eileen Murray and David Wayne Stowe. They will all have their cases transferred to a Jasper Superior Court.

Other action during the court session included the following:
•Marvin Davis, Jr., pled guilty to bad check citation/deposit account fraud, and was sentenced to pay $281 in restitution, $140 court cost, 12 months probation and 30 hours of community service.
•Charles Goen pled guilty to disorderly conduct, and was sentenced to pay $260 in fines and fees, 12 months probation and 30 hours of community service.
•Phyllis Lackey pled guilty to disorderly conduct, and was sentenced to pay a $210 fine, 12 months probation and 30 hours of community service.
•Danielle Rayne Stockton and Thomas Jake Hawkins both failed to appear to answer the charge of disorderly conduct, and a bench warrant was issued for their arrests.
•Danny Ray Grindle pled not guilty to possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and was scheduled for a bench trial on January 20.
•Jessie James Griggs pled not guilty to disorderly conduct, and was scheduled for a bench trial on January 20.
