William Joe Wagner
William Joe Wagner, 83, of Jackson, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Autumn Village 2 Assisted Living in Jackson.
Mr. Wagner was born in Eatonton to the late Joe Walter Wagner and Lucindy Lynch Wagner. He was a Baptist. Before retirement, he was a dairy farmer for Harvey Lane Farms.
He was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Maybelle Evans, Louise Duckworth, Charlie Wagner, Roy Wagner, Jessie Wagner, and J.B. Wagner.
He is survived by his son, Billy Joe Wagner; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Layson of Gray, Minnie Smith, Sara Marsh, and Cinnie Evans, all of Monticello, Fannie Hobbs of Locust Grove, and Ann Shirley of Jefferson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment was held in Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Eatonton. Dr. John Brown officiated.
Pallbearers were Joey Shirley, Tony Smith, Corey Biles, Allen Smith, Josh Freeman and Calvin Leggett.
The family received friends Friday, Jan. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home, 264 Hillsboro St., Monticello.
