Shiloh Christian Knights Continue to Win, Finish On the Road
The Shiloh Christian Academy basketball teams have continued to play quality basketball over the past weeks with the junior girls and middle school girls winning all of their games and the junior boys and middle school boys also picking up wins after a couple of tough losses.
On January 19, SCA hosted St. George Episcopal School from Milner and came away with a split of the four games. The junior girls won 25-6 attributed to 11 points from Rachael Jackson. Maddy Davidson added 6, McKenzie Tolbert had 4, and Erin Carter and Laura Miller each scored 2.
In junior boys action, the junior Knights lost a defensive battle 14-8. Parker Wyatt had 3 points, followed by Matt Mitchell and Nathan Crawford with 2 each, and Brian Cumbess adding 1.
The middle school games also saw a split with the girls winning 26-10, while the boys dropped a 44-35 decision.
Jackson and Bre Cleveland led the girls with 8 each, followed by Davidson with 4, and Tolbert with 3. Ambriel Wyatt also scored 2 points and Lorin Crawford added 1.
The boys were led by Matthew Lawson with 19. Jacob Young, Sam Mitchell, and David Sorrells each scored 4, while Justin Clark and Ady Dahod had 2 each.

The middle school boys travelled to Milledgeville on January 20 to play at Sinclair Christian Academy where the Knights came away with a 45-17 win. Lawson led the way with 15 points, followed by Clark with 10, and Sorrells with 8. Mitchell threw in 6 and Dahod, Kelly Yeomans, and Justin Nelson rounded out the scoring with 2.
On January 21, the junior teams hosted Lake Oconee Academy and came away with a sweep. The girls won 20-11 behind 13 points from Tolbert. Jackson added 5 and Erin Carter scored 2. The boys won a low-scoring 10-8 game with Matt Mitchell scoring 4, and Will Mitchell, Nathan Crawford, and Peyton Rogers each adding 2.
On January 23, SCA hosted Middle Georgia Christian School won three out of four. The junior girls won 36-4, while the junior boys came up on the short end of a 20-16 decision. The middle school girls won handily by a final of 35-4 and the middle school boys finished off the evening with a 46-17 victory.
Scoring for the junior girls were Tolbert with 12, Carter 10, Davidson 8, Jackson 4 and Bianca Dove with 2.
The junior boys were led by Matt Mitchell with 8, and Parker Wyatt, Will Mitchell, Nathan Crawford, and Austin Cumbess all had a basket each.
The middle school girls leaders were Jackson with 15, Davidson with 10, Cleveland with 8, and Tolbert had 2. Middle school boys were led once again by Lawson’s 17 and David Sorrells 15. Justin Clark added 8 with Sam Mitchell scoring 4 and Ady Dahod 2.
This past Monday, the middle school boys travelled to Stockbridge to take on the North Henry Academy Lions and came away with a 40-30 win. Lawson led the Knights with 14 while Mitchell added 8 and Jacob Young netted 6. Other scorers included Justin Clark and Kelly Yeomans with 4 each and David Sorrells and R. J. Whitlock with 2 apiece.
The junior girls are now 8-0 for the season while the junior boys are 2-7. These younger teams travel to Greensboro today, FEb. 2 for their season finale against the Titans of Lake Oconee Academy.
The middle school girls are currently 6-4 and the middle school boys are 10-3. These teams will travel to Macon Area this weekend for their end of season tournament before the boys team returns home on Tuesday to play their final game when they host Sinclair Christian.
