M. Zane Perry
M. Zane Perry, 43, of Shady Dale, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Perry was born and lived in Monroe, until moving to Jasper County 10 years ago. Deputy Perry was a traffic officer for the Butts County Sheriff’s Department in Jackson and a police officer for the Monticello Police Department. He was a graduate of the Police Academy and a member of the Jasper Masonic Lodge #50 F&AM. His hobby was building and collecting guns.
A son, Steven Zane Perry, and step-father, Dean Skinner, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Weaver Perry of Shady Dale; children, Madison Perry and Jackson Perry, both of Shady Dale; mother, Nancy Malcom Skinner of Monroe; and father, Marion Perry of Monroe.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church in Shady Dale. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Ed Westbrook and Chaplain Joe Buffard will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Jason Taylor, Wayne Parker, Chris Clack, Sibert Malcom, Joseph Pritchett, and Joey Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be the Butts County officers and Jasper County officers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home, 264 Hillsboro Street, Monticello.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Zane Perry Fund for children, c/o Bank of Monticello, P.O. Box 29, Monticello, Ga. 31064.
