Lady Cougars Post Tennis Wins

The Piedmont Academy Lady Cougars defeated Gatewood Monday afternoon in tennis action.

Brittany Germany and Clare Maloney won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively to give Piedmont wins in the only contested matches.

Last week Piedmont traveled to Central Fellowship and No. 1 boys singles player Britton Bailey earned a victory. The No. 1 doubles team for the Lady Cougars, Briana Bailey and Savannah Holifield, also posted a win against Central Fellowship.

“We have enjoyed some success and everyone is improving,” said coach Robert McMichael. “I have seen a good deal of improvement from all of our players.”

The Piedmont tennis teams will return to action next Thursday, March 22, against Brentwood in Sandersville at 4 p.m. The team will then host Briarwood March 23, also at 4 p.m.
