Piedmont Tennis Regular Season Ends

The Piedmont Academy tennis players have completed the regular season and will return to action in April for the Region 1-AA tournament hosted by Brentwood in Sandersville.

This week the Lady Cougars defeated Gatewood as Brittany Germany and Clare Maloney both won their matches Monday.

On Tuesday, Germany earned an 8-1 win against Monsignor Donovan while Britton Bailey won in singles play 8-5 for the Piedmont boys.

Prior to Tuesday, the Piedmont tennis teams faced Brentwood and Briarwood last Thursday. Bailey fell 9-8 in a tiebreaker set against Brentwood for the Piedmont boys in a competitive match.

For the Lady Cougars, Katie Brennan fell 8-6 at No. 3 singles against Brentwood.

Briarwood swept Piedmont in the matches between the schools.

The teams are now off for spring break and will return to action for the Region 1-AA tournament beginning April 9 at Brentwood.
