Georgia State Patrol Searches for Hit and Run Driver

The Georgia State Patrol is asking for the public’s help in locating the driver and vehicle that killed an Eatonton man on August 5, 2011. The victim, Eddie Broadus, Jr., age 62, of Eatonton was found around 7:30 a.m. on Glenwood Springs Road off U.S. 441 By-Pass in Putnam County.

Investigators believe the man was hit sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. that morning by either a truck or SUV. The Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is assisting troopers from GSP Madison with the crash investigation.

The vehicle involved in the crash could possibly be a 1994-1996 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, or 1500-3500 series truck with damage to the driver’s side.
