Man Gets 20 Years for Child Molestation
Timothy W. Norris pled guilty to four counts of child molestation in Jasper Superior Court this past Tuesday, with Judge James L. Cline, Jr., presiding.
Judge Cline sentenced Mr. Norris to serve five of the 20 years, with credit for time served since September 29, 2011, and to serve the remainder on probation.
The defendant was also ordered to pay fines and fees totaling $1,382, and to stay away from the victim.
Other individuals pleading guilty during the same court session are listed below including the charges and sentences:

• Donovan Sands to family violence/simple battery, cruelty to children in the third degree (see or hear acts), disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and aggravated stalking—sentenced to five years with six months to serve and the remainder on probation, fines and fees of $1,382 and restitution of $150.
• Daniel R. Lopez to burglary and obstruction of officer—sentenced to four years to be served on probation with credit for time served since September 3, 2011, and fines and fees on $1,382.
• Kerry L. Jackson to reckless driving—sentenced to 12 months to be served on probation and fines and fees of $694.
• Bennett Miller (in absentia) to driving under the influence less safe, no proof of insurance and failure to maintain lane—sentenced to 40 hours of community service, $901 in fines and fees and ordered to attend DUI Risk Reduction Program.
• Anthony Blackman to battery/family violence—sentenced to attend 12 weeks of anger management classes and court cost of $145.
Also, sufficient evidence was presented to satisfy the court that the following individuals had violated their parole and had it modified or revoked as shown below:
• Quincy Bogan committed the new charges of violating his assigned curfew, failure to report to his probation supervisor and failure to attend any sex offender treatment classes for the month of November in 2011.
Mr. Bogan, who was on probation as a sex offender, was given credit for time served since January 17, 2012, and returned to regular probation supervision as originally ordered.
• Michele Miller Corbisiero committed the new charges of missing 12 scheduled appointments, failure to pay fines and fees, failure to show proof of having completed risk reduction program, failure to show proof of having completed A & E Evaluation and failure to show proof of completion of 40 hours of court ordered community service.
Ms. Corbisiero, who was on probation for driving under the influence, was sentenced to serve 155 days in the Jasper County Jail with credit given for 15 days served.
Thirty days of the sentence to be suspended upon payment of $50 public defender fee, after which probation shall be terminated and all conditions waived.
• Robert Ross committed the new charges of changing his residence without notifying his probation supervisor and failure to pay court ordered fines and fees.
Mr. Ross, who was on probation for the conviction on two counts of burglary in August of 2010, was sentenced to serve 60 days in the Jasper County Jail with credit for time served since March 26, 2012.
The county jail sentence is to be vacated if the defendant pays $500 towards his fine, and upon release be returned to regular probation.
• Tony Andrew Thurman committed the new charges of missing 10 scheduled appointments, failure to pay court ordered fines and fees and failure to complete 40 hours of community service.
Mr. Thurman, who was on probation for the charge of shoplifting in 2011, was sentenced to serve 137 days in the Jasper County Jail with credit for 20 days already served.
The jail sentence shall be suspended upon payment of full case balance of $740, after which probation would be terminated and all conditions waived.
