Mr. Sands’ personal pursuits include spending quality time with family, fishing, and furthering his law enforcement skills and training. He is currently one semester away from obtaining his Criminal Justice degree from Kaplan University.
Deputy Sands is proud to be a deputy in the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff Roper has been an excellent role model and leader for those serving under his command.
Deputy Sands said he would like to continue to build on positive concepts already in place and to expand efforts in areas such as involving youth in police programs and community support activities, updating equipment and technology, maximizing solicitation and use of grants to ensure fiscal responsibility in making improvements, and fostering a feeling of pride and commitment county-wide in employee job performance.
“The citizens of Jasper County and the employees serving those citizens deserve access to the most modern police equipment and technology available in responding to law enforcement calls and issues,” said Deputy Sands. “Every citizen deserves to be treated with respect and empathy as well as being shown integrity and professionalism,” he said.
Deputy Sands’ years on the road have provided experience in dealing with various types of personalities, handling complaints and difficult situations, and a knowledge of special needs in various areas of the county, he said.
Deputy Sands has a heritage of hard work and dedication to Jasper County, and he requests your vote as Sheriff of Jasper County. His desire is to make Jasper County a better place to live, work, and raise a family.
“Greg Sands—a sheriff not just for today, but for the future; not just for our children, but for our grandchildren; not just for one political party, but for all the people,” is his motto.
