Brittany Germany lost her opening-round match 6-3, 6-1 while Clare Maloney fell 6-0, 6-1. Katie Brennan also fell in singles play 6-2, 6-1.

Briana Bailey and Savannah Holifield fell at No. 1 doubles 6-1, 6-2. Brittnee Phillips and Jade Wilson competed at No. 2 doubles falling 6-1, 6-0.

“It has been a rebuilding year with so many players being beginners,” coach Robert McMichael said. “We showed improvement and that’s the main thing. Many of our matches were closer than the scores indicated.”
