Susan Holmes Will Seek Re-election

State Representative Susan Holmes of Monticello announces she will seek re-election to the House of Representatives in the newly configured House District 129 consisting of Jasper County and parts of Jones, Butts and Monroe counties.

Rep. Holmes was first elected in 2010 and serves on the Agriculture and Natural Resources committees. She was instrumental in the passing of conservative and common-sense legislation including state tax reform, criminal justice reform, drug testing for welfare recipients, increased penalties for metal theft and two balanced state budgets holding spending to 2001 levels.

Rep. Holmes is married to Paul Holmes, a retired businessman who is presently serving as Chairman of the Technical College System of Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Holmes recently celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with their three children and eight grandchildren. Rep. On Thursday, May 17 from 5:30 until 7:30 pm, the campaign will host a kickoff/fund-raiser at Fresh Air BBQ, 1164 Hwy. 42 South in Jackson.
