Middle School ‘Cane Athletes Are Awarded

Jasper County Middle School held its sports banquet on April 10 at the Middle School.

Student athletes were recognized for their outstanding performances in boys and girls basketball, cheerleading and wrestling.

The students and their coaches are listed here.

Students awarded for boy’s basketball for the 2011-2012 season include (top photo) Chad Cain, Academic Award; Jordan Stone, MVP; and Dimiria Glover, Coaches Award.

For the 2011-2012 girl’s basketball season (middle photo) Kylah Wilson received the Hurricane Award; Natasha LaVaughn won for Best Teammate; and Calie Batson, received the Academic Award.

In cheerleading, (bottom photo) Hannah VanHorn received the Academic Award, and not pictured are Chyna Epps, Coaches Award; Morgan Blackwell, Spirit Award; and Caitlyn Shumway, was Most Improved.

For the middle school Mat ’Canes, Tyler Seawright was awarded Best Wrestler; Dylan Falls received the Coaches Award; Chris Anglin wasawarded for Best Sportsmanship, and Harley Alter, was wrestling MVP.

Coaches for each sport are Buddy Cain and Gus Robinson for boy’s basketball, Matt Allen and Emma Greenway for girl’s basketball, Alicia Kirkpatrick for cheerleading, and Aubrey Fortson and Justine Martin are wrestling coaches.
