Janie Roberts

Janie Davis Roberts, 76, formerly of Monticello, died Monday, April 23, 2012 at Magnolia’s of Gaffney in Gaffney, S.C.

Born in Pavo, GA, she was the widow of the late Roy L. Roberts, Sr. and the daughter of the late Malcolm and Sally Dawdry Davis. She was raised in the home of Houbson and Emma Goldman. Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are two sons, Roy Roberts and wife, Rebecca of Gaffney, S.C.and Rabun Roberts and wife, Theresa of St. Stephen, S.C.; nine grandchildren, William Mann, Erin Mann, Roy Roberts, Lara Roberts, Brett Roberts, Bryce Roberts, Sabrina Martin, Sacoria Valentine and Joel Roberts; and a son-in-law, Will Mann of Monticello.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Roberts Mann.

The family will receive friends Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 1-2 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home, Gaffney, S.C. Memorial services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Thornhill officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes.
