Alex Bailey
Alex Rodney Bailey, 52, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Monday, May 14, 2012.
Al Bailey was born in Warm Springs. His father was the late James Pittard “Slick” Bailey. He grew up in Monticello and after graduating from Monticello High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force. After his years in service ended, Mr. Bailey moved to Panama City Beach where he has lived for the past 28 years.
He was the produce manager for Winn Dixie and a part-time employee for Angelo’s Steak Pit in Panama City Beach. He worked 20 years for the Spinnaker Beach Club.
Mr. Bailey was a member of the Monticello Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and loved his cats.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Kelly Bailey of Panama City Beach, FL; mother and step-father, Katie Cornelia and Paul Weeks of Ebro, FL; sister, Janna Bailey Hooper of Monticello; brother, Bobby Bailey of Monticello; step-sisters, Karen Hall of Panama City Beach, FL, and Amy Buell of Arcana, Texas; nieces and nephews, Marshall Diaz, Patrick Diaz, Melanie Diaz, Autumn Peterson, Amanda Eubanks, Nicholas Bailey, Nikki Bailey, Mason, Robbins, Ethan Buell, and Megan Crafton; great-nieces and nephews, Mackenzie Diaz, Evan Diaz, Owen Diaz, Amelia Peterson, Adon Robbins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Monticello Baptist Church. Interment will be held at West View Cemetery. Dr. Robert Whitmire will officiate.
The family will receive friends from Friday, May 18, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Terry McMichael, Tommy Davis, William Oliver, Gene Bailey, Marshall Diaz, Patrick Diaz, and Nicholas Bailey.
