Court Orders 30 Year Sentence
Charles Edward Lynch was sentenced to 30 years, with 20 to serve, after he pled guilty to five felony charges in Superior Court Monday, with Judge Hugh V. Wingfield, presiding.
Mr. Lynch pled guilty to two counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer, two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was also ordered to pay court ordered fines and fees totaling $1,437 and to have no contact with the four victims involved.
Other individuals pleading guilty, the charges involved and the sentencing were as follows:

•Roderick D. Dumas, in three separate cases, pled guilty to burglary, theft by shoplifting, battery, aggravated assault, criminal damage to property in the second degree and reckless conduct—sentenced to eight years with three years to serve, fines and fees of $1,464 and to stay away from three separate victims.
•Alonzo D. Standifer pled guilty to false imprisonment and battery—sentenced to five years to be served on probation with the first 12 months to be intensive, fines and fees of $1,382 and ordered to stay away from victim.
•Austin D. Dunlap pled guilty to burglary and possession of marijuana—sentenced to five years with the first 90-120 days to be served in a detention center and the remainder to be served on probation, fines and fees of $2,022 and restitution of $140 to the victim.
•Marion Dixon, III, pled guilty to financial transaction fraud—sentenced to serve 180 days in the Jasper County jail with credit for time served.
•Samuel Williams pled guilty to aggravated assault—sentenced to five years to be served on probation, fines and fees of $387 and ordered to stay away from victim.
•Ricky Dale Johnson plead guilty to theft by receiving stolen property—sentenced to five years to be served on probation with credit for time served since April 27, 2011 and fines and fees of $382.
•Dawne Slater Parker pled guilty to terroristic threats and acts—sentenced to five years to be served on probation and fines and fees of $1,087.
•Travis Clemons pled guilty to crossing guard lines with contraband and battery/family violence—sentenced to five years to be served on probation with credit for time served, fines and fees of $1,887 and ordered to complete Family Violence Intervention Program.
•Richard Johnson pled guilty to possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, driving while license suspended and speeding—sentenced to four years to be served on probation and fines and fees of $1,887.
•Timothy S. West pled guilty to possession of marijuana—sentenced to 12 months to be served on probation and fines and fees of $1,094.
•Dexter Daniels pled guilty to reckless conduct—sentenced to 12 months to be served on probation, fines and fees of $904 and ordered to stay away from victim.
•Quinton R. Mohone plead guilty to theft by taking and possession of marijuana—sentenced to three years to be served on probation and fines and fees of $1,007.
•Vashon Traylor pled guilty to simple battery—sentenced to 12 months to be served on probation and fines and fees of $594.
•Kenny L. Strickland pled guilty to aggravated assault, battery/family violence, obstruction of an officer and criminal trespass—sentenced to five years with 60-120 days to be served in a detention center, fines and fees of $1,387, ordered to stay away from victim and to complete Family Violence Intervention Program.
•James R. Grindle pled guilty to theft by taking—sentenced to five years to be served on probation with credit for time served, and $1,000 fine.
The following individuals failed to appear to answer charges and a Bench Warrant was issued for the arrest of Brandon Lanorris Thomas, Terry Nolan Hall, Willie C. Davis, Travis Williams and Dewayne Standifer.
Another 36 cases were continued.
Also, on May 11 the Jasper County Magistrate Court convened with Judge Kenneth G. Jackson, presiding, where the following cases were processed:
•Jason Carl Eason pled guilty to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to 12 months probation, 30 hours of community service and a fine of $210.
•Five other individuals pled not guilty to varying charges and were scheduled for a bench trial on Friday, May 25.
