Deputy Recovers Stolen Birds, Cages

A deputy responded to an address on Herring Gull Court on May 23 to investigate the location of property that was reported stolen by a complainant who lives on Hwy 212, according to information received from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

After arrival the deputy reported the recovery of a brass bird cage with a blue-green in color bird, a black bird cage with a grey-yellow and white in color bird. Also reported recovered was a clear plastic container with a yellow lid containing four and one-half pounds of premium gourmet bird seed.

Other criminal activity reported by the JCSO during the past week include the following:

•On May 26 the owner of a building on Shepherd Road in Mansfield reported the theft of Yamaha four wheeler, and Artic Cat four wheeler, a Milwaukee portable saw, and Craftsman tool box with tools, a jump box, five gallon gas cans, a standard and metric ratcheting wrench set, a 15 gallon sprayer and a Kodak trail camera.

•On May 26 a resident on Jefferies Road in Shady Dale reported the theft of a GE electric stove, a GE refrigerator, a Kenmore washer and dryer, an antique dresser with mirror and metal sheets used for pouring concrete slabs.

Also, during the period of May 22 through 29 the JCSO reported the following arrests:

•Kim Annette Slaughter, 45, Mansfield—cruelty to children.

•Jonathan Jaben Hardin, 52, Monticello—failure to maintain lane, driving while license suspended or revoked, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Marcus Ryan Kahkonen, 21, Jackson—reckless driving causing harm to or endangering safety and discharge of a gun or pistol near public highway or street.

•Susan Maddox Allen, 51, Forsyth—simple battery and interfering with a 911 call.

During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 161 calls for service including 34 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 13 subject needs officer, 11 alarm, seven accident, six each trouble unknown and argument, five each juvenile complaint and road hazard, four each fight, assist motorist, escort or convoy, mechanical breakdown and music and noise complaint.

Also, three each dog disturbance, welfare check, threatening/harassing calls, property found, vandalism of property and identity fraud/theft, two each 911 hang up, test call, burglary, theft by taking checking location persons refuse to leave, abandoned vehicle and vgcsa.

Also, one each prowler report, livestock on road, sick, intoxicated pedestrian, fire/brush, fire/structure, pick up prisoner/subject, shortness of breath, miscellaneous, extra patrol, road rage, discharge firearms, possible suicide, and trespassing.

Also during this period, the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:

•Teri Lynn Tyler, 55, Monticello—felony obstruction or hindering law enforcement officer (three counts), simple assault (thee counts), battery, simple battery on a law enforcement officer and obstruction or hindering a law enforcement officer.

•Robert Wayne Brownlee, Jr., 38, Monticello—hold for warrant in Gwinnett County.

•Robert L. Savona, 42, Conyers—license violation and failure to maintain lane.

Also during this period officers with the MPD responded to 35 stopping suspicious person/vehicle; five each music/noise complaint, escort or convoy, subject needs officer and trouble unknown.

Also, two each domestic, intoxicated driver, improperly parked vehicle, vandalism of property and abandoned vehicle, and one each alarm, burglary, accident, mechanical break down, miscellaneous ems call, welfare check, juvenile complaint, disorderly, possible suicide, persons refuse to leave, sick, identity fraud/theft.
