Woman Sentenced to Jail
Melissa Michele Lisvey appeared in Jasper Superior Court Tuesday, with Judge Hugh V. Wingfield, III, presiding. Ms. Lisvey, who was on probation for a conviction on the charge of criminal trespass in February, pled guilty to the new charges of possession of cocaine, failure to report and failure to pay court ordered fines and fees.
The court ordered that her probation be revoked in full with 269 days to serve in the Jasper County Jail with credit for time served (12 days), with the condition that after serving a minimum of 90 days the sentence would be suspended upon payment of the case balance of $927.
Several other individuals had their probation revoked with details as follows:

•Vincent Kyle Dudley, who was on probation for a conviction on the charge of theft by taking in March, was found to have violated his parole by testing positive for THC as confirmed by lab tests. Mr. Dudley was sentenced to 30 days in the Jasper County Jail with credit for time served (12 days) after which he will be returned to regular probation.
•Kenneth Anthony Thurman, who was on probation for a conviction on the charge of battery in February, was found to have violated his parole after reporting to the JAG Probation Office while intoxicated on two occasions. Mr. Thurman was sentenced to 60 days in the Jasper County Jail with credit for time served (12 days) after which to be returned to regular probation.
•Lori Straka was found to have violated her probation by the new offenses of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, and was sentenced to serve 60 days in the Jasper County Jail suspended upon entry into inpatient substance abuse treatment facility, and upon successful completion be returned to regular probation.
•William Justin Wilson was found to have violated his probation by the new charges of failure to report and failure to pay court ordered fines and fees. He was sentenced to serve 60 days in the Jasper County Jail with credit for time served since April 24, 2012.
•Willie Benjamin was found to have violated his probation by the new charges of obstruction, open container, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to serve 90 days in the Jasper County Jail with credit for time served since March 8, 2012.
•Brianna Pickett was found to have violated her probation by the new charges of testing positive for meth, failure to report and failure to pay court ordered fines and fees. She was sentenced to serve 120 days in the Jasper County Jail with credit for time served since May 6, 2012, and upon completion be returned to regular probation.
Also on the court calendar was the case of Derwin R. Jackson who was charged with manufacturing marijuana. Mr. Jackson pled guilty to the charge and was sentenced to four years to be served on probation and fines and fees of $1,837.
