Gregory William Holland
Gregory William Holland, 27, of Monticello, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
Mr. Holland was born in Covington, and was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. He worked as a mechanic for Coupe Performance, Inc. and for an auto repossession company for a couple of years. He loved drag racing, mud bogging, and repairing automobiles.
He is survived by his father, William Lester Holland of Monticello; mother and step-father, Susie Lackey Turner and Bud Turner of Madison; grandparents, Arvin and Lillie Holland of Shady Dale, and Annie Lackey of Monticello; sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Dan Edge of Monticello; nephews, Timber Edge, Mason Edge, and Patrick Edge, all of Monticello; step-brother and step-sisters, Kirk Turner and Tonya Paschal of Madison, and Priscilla Harvey of Rutledge; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 13, at the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment was held in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Shady Dale. Pastor Ed Westbrook officiated.
Pallbearers are Matt Monroe, Jamie Becknell, Jimmy Holland, Jeff “Bubba” Williamson, Jr., Robbie Wyatt, and Justin Wyatt.
The family would like to express their gratitude for all the loving care Greg received from the medical staff of Emory University Hospital, the Georgia Transplant Team, and the Cystic Fibrosis Center through his years of treatments.
