Michelle Haddock has announced her candidacy for Jasper County Coroner.

Mr. Haddock is a member of Monticello Masonic Lodge #50, a volunteer firefighter since 2006, and an EMT for Jasper County Emergency Services.
Mrs. Haddock is the daughter of the late Rev. Calvin T. Briscoe and Elizabeth T. Terrell of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Her dad was a member of St. John’s Masonic Lodge #45 and Indian Springs Masonic Lodge #307while reaching the level of “Master” for two years and obtained the Commandery level of the York Rite as well as being a Shriner.
Mrs. Haddock describes her vision of the office of coroner as one that “requires high levels of Compassion, Dedication, and Dependability.”
Compassion: A coroner must possess this quality in order to be sympathetic to family and friends while still maintaining their professionalism. People who have suffered loss of a loved one are at their worst and need someone who can be there for them mentally and physically. Sometimes they just need to know there is another person who cares.
Dedication: The position demands this quality. A coroner should be available 24/7 without hesitation and at a moment’s notice. If, at any time, the coroner isn’t available, a deputy coroner should be in place to respond in lieu of the coroner. “I will ensure this will happen.” The deputy coroner will be trained to the fullest and will possess the same required qualities, she said.
Dependability: Every coroner should already have this quality in order to ensure matters are taken care of in a sufficient, effective, and timely manner. The coroner should perform the duties of his or her office without improper delay.
“If elected coroner, I will pledge my compassion, dedication, and dependability to the citizens of Jasper County with the fullest respect… at a moment’s notice. Thank you for the support I have already received from the citizens of Jasper County and I hope to continue to earn your respect and support during and after the election.”
