Pairzelle Gosdin Rushing
Pairzelle Gosdin Rushing, 85, of Monticello, died Friday, June 29, 2012, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle.
Ms. Rushing was born in Fronlong, Ga. to the late Joe Nathan Gosdin and Lizzie Parmer Gosdin. She lived in Valley, Ala. for a number of years before moving to Monticello four years ago.
She was a member of the Church at Monticello. She loved to cook and attend church. Before retirement, Ms. Rushing worked for West Point-Pepperell, Inc.
Nine sisters and brothers, Ilene Smith, Irma Adams, Demus Gosdin, Dempsey Gosdin, Betty McCullough, Judy Helms, Dorothy Whitmore, Winston Gosdin, and Ida Gosdin, and a great-granddaughter, Ella Brooke Tumlin, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Sonja Tumlin of Monticello; grandsons and spouses, Matt and Mary Tumlin of Hillsboro, and Mark and Brandy Tumlin of Covington; step-grandchildren, Paula Wolfe and Angee Presley, both of Monticello; great – granddaughter, Jordana Pope; step great grandchildren, Rickie Presley, Nathan Presley, Alex Presley, and Charlie Presley; and sister, Fayezelle Berry of Orlando, Fla.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 1, at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment was held Monday, July 2, at the Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange. Pastor Jason Parr officiated.
Honorary pallbearers were Matt Tumlin, Mark Tumlin, Nathan Presley, Joel Gosdin, R. L. Ward, and Terry Berry.
