Store Is Robbed Mid-Day Saturday
The Dollar Plus Store on Frobel Street was robbed at knife point last Saturday, July 28, at approximately 1:15 p.m., according to information received from the Monticello Police Department (MPD).
The robber was described as a short dark person who was wearing a hat and a scarf covering his or her face. He/she was also wearing a gray thermal type shirt, gray trousers and gloves.
An undetermined amount of money was taken. An investigation is underway by the MPD. Anyone with information concerning this incident is encouraged to call the MPD at 706-468-6404.
Also, during the period of July 24 through 31, the MPD reported the following arrests:

•Gregory Lentez Stewart, 30, Monticello—disorderly conduct.
•Haron Lamar Allison, 51, Monticello—child support.
•Raymon Powell Simmons, 18, Monticello—theft by shoplifting.
During this same period officers with the MPD responded to 67 calls for service.
During the period of July 24 through 29 the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) reported the following criminal incidents:
•On July 29 a resident on Emerald Lane in Mansfield reported a burglary in which the following items were stolen—unknown amount of coins, jewelry box, opal ring, wedding ring with diamonds, bag of miscellaneous jewelry, a 42-inch flat screen TV, a 32-inch flat screen TV and two X-box games.

Also, during the period of July 24 through 30 the JCSO reported the following arrests:
• Jeffery Lamar Norwood, 51, Monticello—terroristic threats and acts, interfering with 911 call and probation violation.
• Charles David Perry, 36, Hillsboro—probation violation.
• James Bret Alexander, 50, Stockbridge—probation violation.
• Calvin Neal Williams, 46, Shady Dale—Jasper Co. Magistrate Court bench warrant.
• Brittany Sondria Hardeman, 25, Shady Dale–probation violation.
• Christopher Britton Cappell, 29, Monticello—probation violation.
• William Eugene Reagin, 22, Monticello—probation violation.
• Kathleen Adler Griffin, 49, Mansfield–probation violation.
• Justin Paul Taylor, 27, Mansfield—probation violation.
• Charles Justin Grier, 20, Monticello—probation violation.
•David Spencer Pickett, 18, Monticello—theft by receiving stolen property.
•Donald Lee Dupree, 40, Monticello—hold for warrant in Clayton county.
•Patrick Andrew Diaz, 27, Shady Dale—purchase/possession/manufacture/distribution/sale of marijuana and tampering with evidence.
•Danny Ray Thurman, 47, Monticello—child support.
•William Thurston Martin, 26, Lilburn—child support.
•Jerry Lee Childs, 57, Jackson—hold for warrants in Butts and Fulton Counties.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 137 calls for service including 33 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 10 subject needs officer, eight alarm, six accident, five each dog disturbance, mechanical break down, pick up subject, juvenile complaint, abandoned vehicle, attempt to serve warrant, and four each burglary, assist motorist and theft by taking.
Also during this period, the Georgia State Patrol reported the two following arrests:
•James Timothy Traylor, 27, Monticello—failure to maintain lane, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and open container.
•Qiana Daviete Manning, 33, Monticello—no insurance.
•Robert Allen Robinson, 27, Monticello—no insurance, driving while license suspended or revoked and tag violation.
