X-Girls Earn Second in Tournament

THE 12 AND UNDER X-GIRLS WITH TROPHY

The Jones County based 12 and under fast-pitch softball team, the X-Girls, played in their first 14 and under tournament last weekend in Conyers finishing second.

Team coach, Guy Mosteller said “These girls were amazing! They were not intimidated at all by the fact that the teams we were playing against were 2 to 3 years older than them!”

The X-Girls brought home the second place trophy. Mosteller said the team was led offensively by Kaylin Curry and Madison Findlay, who hit .600 and .555, respectively.

Each of three pitchers had wins on the day. They were Tori Dover, Cheyanne Mosteller and Monticello native, Madison Reese.

Defensively, the outfield came up with some big catches and the infield stopped most everything hit at them. The X-Girls hope to finish out the remainder of the season in the 14U classification.
