HEADED TO ALBANY

Xavier Chapman signed an intent letter to play baseball at Albany State University last Friday. Mr. Chapman, former Hurricane varsity third basemen, was joined by his mother, Kenna Jacobs, and sister, Tre’uana Jacobs. Also, head coach Chris Jenkins was on hand to congratulate the athlete.

“Xavier started and batted third from the time he arrived on campus as a freshman. He has soft hands in the field and quick hands at the plate, which are two assets that you cannot teach and that are a rare combination for high school players. He had a great high school career, and he is the type of player who will excel in college because of being in peak shape and concentrating on the game year round. If Xavier continues to work hard and improve, he could possibly be a Major League draft pick after his college playing days are over,” said Coach Jenkins.
