Post Offices To Remain Open

Rep. Susan Holmes announced Tuesday afternoon that she has learned that two Jasper County post offices that had been threatened with closure will remain open, although it will only be for limited hours.

Last September, officials with the Postal Service met with persons in Hillsboro while they were considering closing that post office.

Rep. Holmes says it will remain open, albeit only two hours a day.

In addition, the post office in Shady Dale had not been the topic of public meetings, but is one of the small facilities like the U.S.P.S. is closing.

Rep. Holmes said it will remain open six hours daily.
