Officers Investigate Tools, Gun Burglaries
On Monday, August 27, a resident on Edwards Road reported to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) that several items had been stolen from his residence.
Those items included an air compressor, an air hose, and air ratchet, assorted impact sockets, a gang box and a tire iron.
Another incident reported by the JCSO was that a resident on Church Street in Shady Dale had reported the theft of a Marlin .22 caliber rifle with a dark wood stock.

Also, during the period of August 21-28 the JCSO reported the following arrests:
• Amberly Shea Rose, 33, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
• Benjamin Ryan Atkinson, 29, Covington—carrying a pistol without a license.
• Jenifer Lynette Benton, 39, Oxford—hold for warrant at Covington Police Department.
• Darryl Eugene Thomas, 26, Monticello—theft by deception and false swearing.
• James Todd Benge, 50, Mansfield—probation violation.
• Tony Andrews, 29, Monticello—theft by deception.
• Jonathan Matthew Tallent, 19, Covington—probation violation.
• Vincent Kyle Dudley, 21, Shady Dale—probation violation.
• Dean Gibson Kilby, 55, Monticello—obstruction of officers and criminal trespass.
• Charles Hubert Williamson, 43, Mansfield—battery.
• Crystal Lynn Love, 33, Hillsboro—deposit account fraud.
• Jeffery Paul Bates, 50, Monticello—probation violation, crossing guard lines with contraband and drugs not in original container.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 137 calls for service including 39 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 12 subject needs officer, 10 alarm, seven juvenile complaint, six each domestic and accident, five trouble unknown, four each speeding auto and threatening/harassing calls.
Also, three each theft by taking and trouble unknown, two each dog disturbance, assist motorist, livestock on road, escort or convoy, mechanical break down, special detail, assault, discharge firearms, entering auto, music/noise complaint, vandalism of property, road hazard, fraud/theft by deceiving and 911 hang up, one each burglary, suicide or attempt, courtesy ride, chase in progress, pick up prisoner/subject, be on the lookout for, chest pains, missing person, trespassing argument, abandoned vehicle, vgcsa and sick.
Also during this period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:
• Alex Kelvin Carter, 51, Monticello—disorderly conduct and obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers.
• Marvis Armel Wyman, 31, Monticello—obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers, disorderly conduct and open container.
• Terrell Eugene Stinson, 49, Shady Dale—giving false name or address to law enforcement officer, no insurance, driving while license suspended or revoked and suspended registration.
• Willie Frank Sanders, 63, Monticello–disorderly conduct.
During this same period officers with the MPD responded to 43 calls for service including 16 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, four alarm, two each domestic, speeding auto, theft by taking, trouble unknown and argument, one each fight, accident, intoxicated driver, direct traffic, escort or convoy, chase in progress, be on the lookout, fall, miscellaneous ems, juvenile complaint, private property, sick and music/noise complaint.
Furthermore, during this same period the Georgia State Patrol reported the arrest of Kenneth Oneal Waller, 47, of Eatonton, and charged him with seatbelt violation and driving while license suspended or revoked.
