Jasper County Extension Secretary Janice Arnold was honored last week as the recipient of the Meritorious Support Service award for both the Northeast District and the state.

Mrs. Arnold was nominated for the award by 4-H Agent Kasey Reid. In her application, Ms. Reid commended Mrs. Arnold for her dedication to her job and the exceptional customer service she provides to Extension clients.

“Over the last 10 years, she has seen the office staff change numerous times, and there was a period of over a year where she and Program Assistants were the only ones working in the local office,” said Ms. Reid.

“Not only does Janice do an outstanding job with her day-to-day secretarial duties, but she also goes above and beyond to help the Jasper County 4-H program grow and excel by serving as a co-leader to the newly re-established Cloverbud pre-4-H club, assisting 4-H’ers with preparing their presentations for District Project Achievement (DPA), volunteering as a project judge at Cloverleaf and Junior/Senior DPA, and attending Cloverleaf Camp as a leader in the past, among other assignments she has taken on to help where she could.
