John Braden Misses Only One

John Braden was the winner of this week’s Monticello News football contest, correctly guessing the winners in 14 of the 15 games listed.
Mr. Braden was on hand Monday and received his $25 prize from State Representative Susan Holmes. Mrs. Holmes outdid herself with the prizes giving Mr. Braden a print of the State Capital building, by local artist Jeanne Trammell and a daily devotional book that is used each morning during the session in addition to $25.
Mr. Braden only missed the win of Miles over West Georgia. When asked, he said that he almost always picks Georgia Tech, as he attended there. “The gridiron [gazette] is a nice feature in The News,” said Mr. Braden. He also said that he’s been playing the contest as long as he has lived here, about six years.
