Burglars Are Caught In the Act
Thanks to the watchful eye of a neighbor, a burglary was prevented last week at a residence on Bunting Court in Turtle Cove.
Jonathan Andrew Hix, Jr., 29 of Monticello, and Kristie Burrell Mullins, 31, of Loganville, were both arrested at the scene and charged with burglary and theft by taking.
Timmy Lee Strange, 28, of Covington, who allegedly fled the scene, was arrested and charged with the same charges later.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) a neighbor had noticed tail lights in the driveway of the residence and called 911 since she knew the owner was out of town.
When the JCSO deputy arrived the three alleged burglars ran into the woods. The deputy found a trailer belonging to the resident had the hitch ball secured to the get away truck and also the back door of the residence had been burst in.
