PHOTOGENIC DEER

The deadline for submissions to The Monticello News and Jordan Funeral Home annual photography contest is Thursday, Nov. 8.

Entry packages will be available for pick-up at The Monticello News office, 237 West Washington Street, about a half-block west of the Square beginning tomorrow, Oct. 12.

This year’s photos will be judged in four categories—wildlife, flowering plants (native species only), landscape, and people and nature. The last category can feature photos which show people and man-made objects in nature.

The grand prize will be a Canon Rebel T3i (18mp) digital camera with a 18-135 mm lens and accessory kit (a retail value of $1,200). Other prizes will be presented for first prize in each category. Any amateur photographer who lives in Jasper County or who subscribes to The Monticello News may enter. Photos must be taken in Georgia or a state bordering Georgia.

Photographs will be judged by a panel of judges who determine if the photo fits the category and the quality of the photo.
