Agencies Team Up for Road Checks

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) teamed up last Friday night with several other middle Georgia participating agencies for dual road checks in Jasper County.
One was held at the intersection of Hwy. 212 west and Conley Ditch Road, near the Newton/Jasper line, and the other was held at Hwy. 142 and Post Road.
Ten arrests were made as a result of the road checks here. Charges included three people arrested for possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and two people arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In addition, six persons were charged with open containers, three wanted persons were located; and other violations noted were child seat violation, expired tag, driving on a suspended licence, tire violation and windshield violation.

•Joshua Dane Castleman, 26, Covington—possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
•Jose Miguel Dominguez-Frias, 24, Shady Dale—driving without license.
•Terrie Jean Walker, 37, Kingsland—open container and hold for a warrant in Camden County.
•Lisa Ann Fox, 44, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Page Joanna Damerow, 22, Conyers—possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
•Benito Juarez-Gonzalez, 24, Monticello—driving without a license.
•Johnny Ray Morgan, 25, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Breanna Michelle Pickett, 21, Monticello—probation violation.
•Michael Wayne Curtis, 23, Mansfield—open container and possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
Also, during the period of October 15-23 the JCSO reported the following additional arrests:
•James Gabriel Holcombe, 29, Newborn—probation violation.
•Kristen Kathleen Costley, 29, Covington—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and driving on a limited driving permit.
•Tracy Marie Voyles, 41, Shady Dale—possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
•Kenneth Oneal Waller, 22, Monticello—hold for warrant in Putman County.
•Denise Renee Glanton, 51, Covington—deposit account fraud (two counts).
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 153 calls for service including 44 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 16 accident, 15 alarm, nine mechanical break down, six subject needs officer, four each assist motorist, pick up prisoner/subject and trouble unknown, three each intoxicated driver, theft by taking, juvenile complaint and discharge firearms, two each domestic, escort or convoy, four wheeler, music/noise complaint, road hazard, trespassing, vgcsa, license check/roadblock, attempt to serve warrant and 911 hang up, one each dog disturbance, burglary, suicide or attempt, courtesy ride, livestock on road, fire alarm, mental person, be on the lookout, shortness of breath, extra patrol, entering auto, threatening/harassing calls, lost property, identity fraud/theft, sick, stroke.
In another crime related incident, the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the arrests of the following individuals on October 17 and 18 in connection an armed robbery in the parking lot of CVS Drugs on October 9:
•Donavan Jermaine Clemons, 27, Hillsboro—conspiracy to commit a felony, armed robbery, false statements and writings and obstruction of an officer.
•Robert Ryan Gardiner, 27, Loganville—conspiracy to commit a felony and criminal attempt to commit a felony.
•Savannah Marie Dumas, 18, Monticello—false statements and writing and obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers.
•Keidarious Rontrez Foster, 22, Monticello—possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit a crime, conspiracy to commit a felony, false statements or writings, armed robbery, obstruction of an officer, criminal solicitation, manufacture/distribution/possession with intent of imitation controlled substance.
The alleged victim in the armed robbery, Jake Keith Hyde, 19, of Covington, was also charged with false statement and writing (two counts), criminal attempt to commit a felony, obstruction of an officer (two counts) and conspiracy to commit a felony. According to the Monticello Police Chief Bobby Norris, the case is still under investigation.
Also, during the period of October 15-23, the MPD reported the following additional arrests:
•Qwaniesha Zhae Sands, 18, Monticello—probation violation.
•Oliver Northous Jackson, 25, Monticello—probation violation.
•Justin Wayne Slocumb, 35, Monticello—theft by shoplifting.
•Amber Deanne Strickland, 22, Monticello—probation violation.
•Richard Neal Jackson, 51, Monticello—probation violation, open container, driving while license suspended or revoked and giving false name or address to law enforcement officer.
•Rhonda Cherie Randall, 46, Monticello—probation violation.
Also, during the period mentioned above officers with the MPD responded to 59 calls for service including 24 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, four alarm, three each mechanical break down, juvenile complaint and attempt to serve warrant, two each accident, subject needs officer, vandalism of property, argument and seizure, one each burglary, assist motorist, intoxicated driver, pickup prisoner/subject, private property, music/noise complaint, shoplifter, gas drive off, road hazard, stroke, 911 hang up and forgery.
