Chase Ends In Wreck; Hunter Found Dead

Felton Stephen Walker, 55, of Monticello was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving while license suspended or revoked, tag violation and probation violation, after leading Monticello police and Jasper County deputies on a chase that began in the city, and ended at the intersection of Harvey Lane Road and Hwy. 212 west of the city, when a deputy forced the driver to crash. Mr. Walker was taken to Walton Medical Center.

According to information received from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), Brandon Walker of Alpharetta, was found dead on November 4.

Around noon of that day a hunting party off of Post Road, north of the middle school, called the JCSO and reported that Mr. Walker had not returned to camp.

The JCSO responded with dogs and found Mr. Walker lying face up in a creek and deceased. The JCSO are waiting on an autopsy report on the deceased as the investigation continues.Also, the JCSO reported the following two criminal incidents as detailed below:

• On November 9 a resident on Ernest Gibson Road reported the theft a Slyvan pontoon boat, a boat trailer, a Mercury two stroke motor, a depth finder and various fishing rods and reals.

• On November 9 a resident on Killdeer Court in Rolling Wood Cove reported the theft of various coins, a GPS unit and four different Nintendo games.

Also, during the period of November 6-13 the JCSO reported the following arrests:

• Richard Alan Cvengros, 26, Monticello—probation violation.

• Franklin D. Barrington, 23, Covington—probation violation.

• Deborah Celeste Livers, 56, Monticello—probation violation.

• Clayton Elisha Besley, Jr., 22, Monticello—probation violation.

• Rachel Lynn Foley, 32, Monticello—child support.

• Debra C. Verrill, 50, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and stop sign violation.

• Michael Arthur Johnson, 33, Monticello—criminal trespass, theft by taking and reckless conduct.

• Noah Austin Hyde, 19, Covington—probation violation.

• Cody Allen Dotter, 18, Monticello—probation violation.

• Wilburn Lee Knight, 38, Monticello—probation violation.

During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 105 calls for service including 19 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 12 accident, and 11 subject needs officer.

Also during this period, the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:

• Randy Cargile, 49, Monticello—probation violation.

• Odell Lamar Thurman, 29, Monticello—public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

• Gregory Garnett Robinson, Jr., 21, Monticello—public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

• Fredrick Jerome Stone, 48, Monticello—probation violation.

• Patrick Wesley Odom, 19, Monticello—simple battery, obstruction of an officer and disorderly conduct.

• Randy Lee Delacerda, 48, Conyers—hold for warrants in Barrow and Walton County.

During this period, officers with the MPD also responded to 46 calls for service including 17 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, two each accident, theft by taking, persons refuse to leave and attempt to serve a warrant.
