Shiloh Christian Tips-Off Basketball

Shiloh Christian Academy basketball has tipped off the 2012-2013 season and games are in full swing with four girls teams and four boys teams serving students in fourth through twelfth grades.

Last Tuesday Nov. 6, the junior varsity girls travelled to Hampton to take on Bible Baptist and fell by a final score of 31-21 in their debut.

McKenzie Tolbert led a balanced offensive attack with five points, while Bre Cleveland, Ambriel Wyatt, and Lorin Crawford all had four each.

Last Thursday the junior pro (fourth-sixth graders) along with the middle school squads, faced the Lions of North Henry Academy in Stockbridge. The junior pro girls fell hard by a final of 30-7, despite four points from Joy Martin and three from her sister, Josephine Martin.

The junior pro boys were victorious in their first effort of the season, coming away with a 26-11 win, led by Matt Mitchell with 10 and Riley Young with six. Parker Wyatt, David Pfeiffer, Austin Cumbess, Brian Cumbess, and Cameron Read all added two points each.

In Middle School action, the Jr. High Lady Knights posted a 23-14 win behind nine from Rachael Jackson and five from Tolbert.

The action concluded with a boys 32-23 win over the host team. Sam Mitchell and R. J. Whitlock led SCA with 12 points each. Wyatt had six and Nathan Crawford added two.

On Monday, the middle school teams travelled to Heritage Academy in Gainesville and lost two. The girls fell 16-11 despite five points from Maddy Davidson and four from Jackson and saw their record drop to 1-1.

The boys, likewise, fell to the host Crusaders, by a final of 25-22 with Mitchell scoring 13, Wyatt six, and Whitlock three.

The middle school teams were to host John Hancock Academy Tuesday and are scheduled to travel to Jeffersonville tomorrow, Nov. 16 to play Twiggs Academy. They will then travel to Sparta on Tuesday, Nov. 20 for a rematch with John Hancock.
